Modern information and communication technologies have created a "global village," in which people can communicate with others across the world as if they were living next door. For this reason, ICT is often studied in the context of how modern communication technologies affect society.
Considering the technological advancements going on in the modern world, the team decided to introduce the students of primary schools of Chharba with the basics of computers. Therefore, an informative session was conducted on the basics of Microsoft Office under the initiative Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
Student’s Initiative for Integrated Rural Development (SIIRD) has realized the importance of ICT since the beginning and it has been one of the major initiatives of SIIRD. UBA team under this initiative visits schools of Chharba and empower the future generation by teaching them the basics of computer software applications. Two sessions under ICT Initiative have been conducted till date. The first session was held on February 02, 2019, in which students were taught how to draw basic shapes and color fill in MS Paint. The second session was held on February 09, 2019. Students got to learn the basics of MS Paint, MS Word and MS PowerPoint. Each and every student practiced on a laptop, which was provided by team members. Regarding the fast-moving technology, more such sessions can be conducted to make students familiar with modern technologies.
